I heart Donna Hay

So I love Donna Hay. I discovered her on a trip to the library as I was browsing through cookbooks and I came across one of hers. So I decided to check it out and see if the flavors matched up to the amazing pictures. (Everyone knows the pictures are what sell the cookbooks.)
I went out and bought it after a few successful meals (and got another book as a gift, thanks Liz). What I do is try a recipe and then I leave sticky notes in the books saying what I rated that particular recipe and how I would change/improve for next time.

Well last night I made dinner with one of my sisters and I took a change an tried a recipe I was sure would not match my taste buds. Well I am happy to have been proven wrong. It was a zucchini salad with mint and lemon dressing. It was so freshing and healthy and easy to make. Not to mention it looked so pretty. I decided it is going on my list of salad for dinner parties. People will think I am a culinary genius with the styling of the dish and the surprising flavors. Thanks Donna!

30 Day Shred

Oh Jillian, how I wish you could be my personal trainer but I will just have to settle for your 30-Day Shred DVD in the mean time. I love Jillian Michaels (as well as the show The Biggest Loser) and my eldest sister now loves Jillian as well. Around Christmas time she bought Jillian's 30-Day Shred DVD and loved it so much that she bought it for my middle sister and I to use as well. I love getting presents but I also love being outdoors or going to the gym, not exercise DVDs. But being a good sister I tried out the DVD to tell her that I had used her present and wouldn't you know it, the DVD kicked m butt! I broke a sweat and loved it! The push-ups were killer, but man worth it. After using it a few times I could feel different muscles that I hadn't felt in a while. I highly recommend this DVD. Oh Jillian, why are you so wonderful?

First Blog

Well today the Steelers won the Super Bowl and the Cardinals lost. I felt bad as the Cardinals should have had another down and did not get a pass interference call but such is life. It also makes me sad that this is the last football game until pre-season in August. BUT that just gives me time to re-design my Cowboys t-shirt. You see I bought a large Cowboys t-shirt and dressed up as Troy Aikman a few Halloween's ago and have wanted to turn the over-sized shirt into a fun girly design to support my boys in style. And now that I just started my sewing class at the local JC I am going to be able to do just that. Here are some shirt ideas I have for it...
